The Bluesman is Always a Social Interpreter

Spiritual resonance and intonation changes with Time. Ayo Salami
We could start at many events for this important discussion, as Human knowledgebase is now, quite developed. As is, what we call “consciousness!” Awareness of “The Powers of African Spirituality in Global Consciousness: Light, Vision & Truth…:” began as a student of High School in the 1960’s. Asking why!In the 6th Century BCE, there exited developed philosophy and society, across the Globe. With developed narratives , stories, rituals of self-cultivation, rites of passages, and prescriptions for self-destructive behaviors like Anger, Greed, Delusions, excreta. And Wisdoms! Concerning violence on families and locals, education, and governance of Justice. Then came Religiosity, Nationhood, Imperialism, Supremacy and the Distortions of History and Faith. Yet, as Realities of Consciousness and Theories of Science were changed by perceptions of Nature and Brain. Narratives and Cultures were again seen as the powerful engine of our ontology. We are not just slaves or machines of Space/Time. As Isaac Bashevis Singer stated: We have to believe in free-will. We’ve got no choice. Today it is called “contextual agency.” As any culture, the Akan as w/Yoruba, had/have spiritual and mythic traditions, social hierarchical, and understanding of persona or “charm” of one’s head. It also generated a Narrative and a Tradition. They weren’t telling 15th year old with curiosity, Nada.Has it changed; No and Yes!? One change is the acknowledgment of Africa’s contributions to this Global Consciousness. Of how a fight for Existentialism in American Slavery, created an assimilation which was predominately Spiritual and Cosmopolitan. Music, Dance, and Joy were integral function of West African daily life. It’s essence came with many ships. The Ancestors brought to our initial primitive traditions and taught an essence of our Faith and Aesthetics, more after WWII. That our ancestors had belief in One Mystery, that Nature’s Powers were tools for prosperity or disorder; with Science proving Nature and Cosmos are a reality of it’s own. And every person has a view of their own. As we looked for Truths and the Light triggering in brain, consciousness brought us stories of Caribbean, Latin America, and Afro_am. The sacrifice and conscious struggles begot in 1920’s for my journeys. Another example, the areas where African drums were not taken, mixed after WWI ; or the Afri Drums and Afro_European music came to USA for prosperous success. And what traveled with them, the Ancestral Families and Masters.
Life Is War Family Is an Army - Akan
Good life depends on sacrifices, character, community and love of family. Family for many is non-blood, as in Religion and Sports. Chance opportunities laying on table is of Necessity and of Spirits (Abosum), for our tradition doesn’t see God as personally involved. Yet always here/there and silent! We see Karma more as moral restitution to persona (the inner spirit) and their family. For if not Settle, passes to other generation or create petty vengeances. Why “nipping in the bud" and educating the child, is perpetual laws. There are no human images of Nyame! Abosums are energies of the Cosmic Order and Nature. Rites of Passages is like the social personality developed by psychology, i.e. Maslow and Adler. There is still a difference between individuality and the society. No matter the new found modality of self-actualization. Many contend, the malaise we face, is a battle to define a good kind life in a nation of wealth, spoke about also before rise of Christianity and Empires fell. Knowledge has to be passed on if Order is of purpose or Anarchy will rule.Tools of Divination, Readings as it is called, are done by Elder Priest of Community or Family; is no different than an Analysis. In family, birth and death have readings. There is the art of possession where in a “different” Consciousness, a gifted person can see or hear shadows of present future. In our tradition an Akom, drum/chant/dance triggering a deity for festival of Gratitude. Reciprocal rituals w/Nature and w/Oneself is major, for Human life is cyclically and person must Heal to be successful. The ancestral master have taught that one can’t walk in the same river twice, yet human propensities are infinite and recursive. Why irrationality and rational behavior are part of human life is of Mystery. A reality to be accepted w/Faith. Moral views are subjective and socially changed by what is accepted knowledge and practices of daily living . Stabilizing the life of Family and Persona, we Americana’s have brought a different touch, yet the simplicity and essence is still present.
The Dignity of Person and Choice
There is such a plethora of personal growth or& tweaking of behavior on Web, today. Since learning that the brain can change its unconscious trigger functions (Neuroplasticity), even if small, the Persona and their Community can change. Fetish is a term developed by Akan, as attachments are used by Neuropsychology, today. The fetish can be used as “power" of material objects or source of one’s neuroses. For Faith is both of Spirituality and Science. Visions of our life journey gives healthy scripting. Good and Bad; Pain and Joy are a twins to living. Akan spirituality as others show Common themes. The rules and rituals of self-knowledge comes first by mentors and teachers, then it depends on acceptance of reality, Living on Earth. And now our life w/Bots and The Cosmos, the human essence doesn’t change radically, but perceptions change and neurons adapt. Person can consciously choose sacrifices and let go of unneeded burdens. Ancestral Akan had no notion of Devil, Heaven or Hell. There is a name for a Cosmic place for deified Ancestors, though; its main teaching is the living of a good life. Where dignity and calmness rules a day

"I became an even firmer believer in psychic determinism, Freud's idea that nothing in one's mental life occurs by chance
Likewise, understanding the biology in no way denies the richness or complexity of thought. Rather, by focusing one component of a mental process at a time, reduction can expand our view, allowing us to perceive previously unanticipated relationships between biological and psychological phenomena"

“Cultural” means that the big changes in living conditions are driven by humans spreading their technology and their ways of making a living by learning from one another rather than by breeding. So you are spreading ideas much more rapidly than you’re spreading genes.
